Leads & Conversion
A lead is the layer that turns quiz results into business. Everyone who leaves their contact details with your team gets one row on the Leads page, carrying a follow-up status, an owner, colour tags, a response count, and their next booking.
Leads are cross-quiz. If the same person takes three of your quizzes, there is still only one lead — with a response count of 3. Deduplication is by respondent, not by submission.
Where leads come from
A lead is created automatically when a signed-in respondent submits a quiz. Anonymous submissions create no lead — there are no contact details to keep.
So if you want a steady stream of leads, respondents need to sign in first. Two common ways:
- Set the report to be visible after sign-in in the quiz settings. People sign in to see their result, and the submission is claimed for them in the process.
- Turn on the booking section on the result page. Booking requires a sign-in, which claims the submission along the way.
You can also add a lead by hand on the Leads page — useful for people you met offline or who came from another channel. See Lead detail.
Leads vs. respondents
These two are easy to confuse:
| Respondent | Lead | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A person’s account profile: name, email, avatar, extended fields | That person’s follow-up record: status, owner, tags, comments |
| Created when | They submit, sign up, or you create them manually | They submit while signed in, or you add the lead by hand |
| Where to find it | Respondents | Leads |
| Can exist without the other | Yes — a respondent can have no lead | No — a lead always belongs to a respondent |
In short: a respondent is the person; a lead is where that person sits in your pipeline.
